International Shipping & Customs Policy
High-Value Art Import Requirements: For original artwork valued over $2,500 USD (or the equivalent local currency threshold in your destination country), local customs authorities will require a Formal Import Declaration.
Required Documentation: To clear your high-value painting through customs, the courier (e.g., DHL Express, FedEx) or a local customs official will contact you directly to request formal identification. This may include your Tax ID/EIN (US), EORI number (EU/UK), or national identification number.
Clearing Your Shipment: Buyers must respond to the courier's documentation requests promptly. Failure to provide the requested identification within the courier's deadline (usually 3–5 business days) will result in the artwork being abandoned or returned to seller at the buyer's expense.
To ensure a smooth delivery process across international borders, please review our customs and import policies below:
Import Duties & Taxes: All international shipments are sent DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid). This means the listed retail price on our website covers the artwork and the transit costs to your door, but does not include any local customs duties, import VAT, or clearance fees levied by your destination country.
Buyer Responsibility: The buyer is solely responsible for paying any local import taxes, customs fees, or brokerage duties required by their country's government to release the package from customs. These fees are collected by the courier (e.g., DHL, FedEx) at the time of delivery.
Customs Delays: While we prepare all export documentation meticulously from Mexico City, packages may occasionally be held at local customs offices for inspection. We are not responsible for delivery delays caused by destination customs clearance procedures.
Refused Shipments: If a shipment is refused by the buyer due to unexpected customs charges, the package will be returned to our studio in Mexico. In these cases, the original shipping costs, return shipping fees, and any processing penalties charged by the courier will be deducted from the buyer's refund.
By completing your purchase, you acknowledge and agree to these international shipping and customs terms.
